The accident occurred around 5:15 a.m. Saturday morning, near the Sherbrooke Street exit.
“We are talking about an employee on board a van who reversed and hit two of his colleagues, who were doing marking work,” said Sergeant Marythé Bolduc, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
One of the two men, 37, was in critical condition in hospital. There is no fear for the life of the other individual struck, who would have suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the van was also taken to hospital as he suffered a nervous shock.
The Commission for Standards, Equity, Health and Safety at Work (CNESST) will investigate this work accident.
The Sûreté du Québec is also conducting its own investigation.
“This morning, reconstructionists in collision investigation from the Sûreté du Québec were on site as well as investigators from the SQ to clarify the circumstances surrounding this work accident,” said Sergeant Bolduc.
The SQ investigation is continuing.
