Montreal will play its first two LPHF playoff games on May 9 and 11 in Laval

We already knew that the Montreal team will have home ice advantage in the first round of the Professional Women’s Hockey League playoffs and that it will play its games at Place Bell. We now know the dates of its first two parts.

LPHF officials announced that the Montreal team will begin its three-of-five semi-final series with matches on Thursday, May 9 and Saturday, May 11, each time at 7 p.m.

In a press release, the LPHF specified that tickets for the first two matches in Laval will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, May 7. Season subscribers of the Montreal club have already been contacted to secure their places and obtain additional tickets, the LPHF also announced.

Fans can also subscribe to the Montreal newsletter to benefit from priority access to the sale.

As for the Toronto team, its first two matches will take place on Wednesday, May 8 and Friday, May 10 at the Coca-Cola Coliseum, an amphitheater that can accommodate more than 8,000 spectators and which usually serves as the home of the Toronto Marlies, the club -school of the Maple Leafs in the American Hockey League. These will be Toronto’s first games in this building this season.

Furthermore, since the final positions of Montreal and Toronto in the rankings have not yet been determined, the same applies to their possible opponents and, at the same time, to the schedule of the following matches.

As the league enters the final week of its regular season, Toronto (11-4-7-0) and Montreal (10-3-5-5) have a combined 41 points, but Toronto still has two games to play compared to just one for the Montreal team, in Boston next Saturday.

Toronto can ensure it finishes first in the standings with a regulation-time victory against Minnesota on Wednesday night.

Minnesota (8-4-7-3 – 35 points), Ottawa (8-1-7-6 – 32 points) and Boston (7-4-9-3 – 32 points) are fighting for the last two places giving access to the playoffs. New York is already eliminated.

Once the final ranking is established, the first-place team will have 24 hours to determine its opponent among the clubs having finished in third and fourth place, for the semi-final round.
