(Montreal) Two people were seriously injured in a rollover on the Metropolitan Expressway in Montreal on Saturday evening.
The accident happened at around 9:55 p.m. on Autoroute 40 East at Boulevard Pie-IX.
According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the vehicle struck an impact damper that separates the highway from the exit ramp at this location.
A second vehicle was involved in the accident.
The passenger of the first vehicle was transported to the hospital center when the paramedics arrived on the scene.
On the other hand, the driver remained stuck inside the accident vehicle, so that firefighters tried to extract it from the carcass at the end of the evening with the help of extrication tools.
No one was injured in the second vehicle. The area was closed to traffic at the end of the evening.
