Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the recent vandalism of 18 Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) vehicles.
They are suspected of having vandalized 18 vehicles from the SPVM fleet which were then in the stations of two neighborhood stations during a series of misdeeds committed on March 8.
Damage to the tires of the vehicles had been noted and they had been temporarily removed from the road and operations.
The suspects were apprehended last Friday at the end of an investigation which mobilized personnel belonging to several different units, specifies the SPVM in a press release released on Monday.
“A major investigation was immediately launched to find those responsible for these misdeeds because of the risk they posed to the police’s ability to intervene in an emergency,” it says.
The two suspects were released pending their appearance, on a promise to respect certain conditions.
