Montreal: trucks targeted by a suspicious fire in Saint-Michel

Montreal police are investigating a fire that targeted three parked Remorquage Meteor trucks in the Villeray – Saint-Michel – Parc-Extension borough, very early Thursday.

At around 3:30 a.m., a 911 call reported trucks on fire on Saint-Michel Boulevard, near Charland Avenue.

Two trucks and a trailer sustained significant damage, while firefighters dispatched to the scene successfully contained the fire under another semi-trailer.

The Montreal Fire Department, which also confirmed the fire, speaks of two burned trucks, without specifying the extent of the damage suffered by the machines.

Accelerant was found on the scene, said the spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), Véronique Comtois.

Investigators from the arson section of the SPVM took charge of the investigation which should begin after the firefighters intervene, it was added.
