Three suspects were arrested Thursday in the case of the double murder by firearm that occurred in Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension last July.
Two of the suspects arrested are men aged 21 and 18. The third is a 15-year-old teenager, the Montreal Police Department (SPVM) said in a press release sent to the media.
On July 19, gunshots rang out in Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension in the middle of the night, around 1:50 a.m. The projectiles hit two men in their thirties, who ultimately succumbed to their injuries after being taken to hospital.
The victims, rapper Guy Love Jolicœur, aka “G Fetty,” and Peter Dave Alisme, a resident of Saint-Michel, had already been seen in the presence of members of a street gang in the borough, according to our police sources. They are the 18e and 19e homicides of the year in Montreal.
Accused of murder on 1er degree, the 21-year-old suspect will soon appear at the Montreal courthouse. He was arrested at the Bordeaux prison, since he had already been arrested in connection with the possession of burglary tools and vehicle theft. “The 15-year-old minor will also be charged with first-degree murder and will appear in the Youth Division of the Court of Quebec,” the written communication states.
The other adult arrested is currently being interviewed by investigators. The motive for the crime has not been revealed by authorities.
The SPVM also mentioned having carried out searches in homes located in Brossard as well as in the Montreal boroughs of Anjou and Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension.
