“Upon arriving at the scene, the police located a victim seriously injured in the upper body by what could be a sharp object. This 32-year-old man was transported to a hospital. We are still awaiting feedback from the medical authorities regarding his state of health,” said Constable Jeanne Drouin, spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

Police arrested two suspects at the scene.

“One of them was slightly injured in the upper body, possibly due to a blow before the arrival of the police. He was also transported by Urgences-santé to a hospital, but his injuries would not be life-threatening. This suspect is 20 years old. “, clarified the agent Drouin.

The other suspect, aged 19, was to be transported to the investigation center in the morning to be questioned by investigators.

The initial nature of the conflict remains unknown at this time.

A security perimeter was erected in the area, but it was still possible for vehicles to circulate on Sainte-Catherine Street.

As for the other attack, it occurred in the borough of Plateau-Mont-Royal.

“This time, police officers on foot patrol locate a fight in progress at the intersection of Saint-Dominique and Prince Arthur East streets. The police locate two victims on the spot, who are aged 19 and 23, two men possibly injured by stabbing,” continued Officer Drouin.

The two men, injured in the upper body, were conscious when transported to hospital. We don’t fear for their lives.

There too, the police made two arrests.

“Police arrested two suspects in their twenties who allegedly attempted to flee the crime scene on foot when police arrived. One of them suffered minor injuries and was also transported to a hospital for injuries that would not put his life in danger,” said the SPVM spokesperson.

The motive for the crime is unknown at this time.

“There could be other suspects involved, who would have left before the arrival of the police,” also said Agent Drouin.

A security perimeter has been erected in the pedestrian area of ​​Prince Arthur Street, between Saint-Dominique and Saint-Laurent streets.
