Montreal | Teenager shot dead Tuesday night

(Montreal) A 17-year-old teenager lies in critical but stable condition in hospital after being injured by at least one gun projectile Tuesday night in northwest Montreal as he walked on the street in the company of two friends.

A few hours later, the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) reported no arrests.

Police said the shooting was reported to him around 10:15 p.m. by a call to the 911 telephone exchange.

It seems that the three people were walking on a sidewalk on Laurentien Boulevard, in the Cartierville sector, and that the gunman arrived on foot from Périnault Street and opened fire in their direction before fleeing.

The two people who accompanied the victim were not reached, according to the SPVM. They were met by investigators.

Police officers from the canine squad and forensic identity technicians had undertaken the examination of the crime scene on Wednesday night. Projectile casings had been found on the ground.
