Montreal police are investigating the origin of a suspicious fire that occurred in the premises of a daycare center in the west of the island on the night of Sunday to Monday.

The officers of the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) were called to go, around 2:30 a.m., to the scene of the fire, on Pierrefonds Boulevard, not far from the intersection with Fredmir Street.
“Certain elements at the scene suggest that it could be arson,” said police spokeswoman Gabriella Youakim.
Given these circumstances, the file was transferred to the arson section of the SPVM.
No one was injured during the fire.
