Montreal | Shots fired in two boroughs last night

Shots were fired in two boroughs of Montreal on the night of Friday to Saturday, one in the borough of Montreal-Nord, the other in Anjou. A person, injured, is still in the hospital, but there is no fear for his life.

It was first around 10:45 p.m., avenue des Récollets, near rue Martial, in Montreal-Nord that the window of an apartment was hit by a projectile that came from outside. The bullet probably ricocheted there, says Sabrina Gauthier, spokesperson for the Montreal Police Department.

Investigators still have no suspects and the investigation is ongoing.

Then, at 12:40 a.m., witnesses saw motorists exchanging gunfire in a parking lot in Anjou. A person who was near the scene was questioned by the police.

A short time later, a man presented himself to the hospital with gunshot wounds to the lower body, wounds which are not threatening to his life. The car in which he arrived at the hospital bore the marks of projectiles.

The police are therefore continuing their investigations and are seeking, among other things, to establish whether or not there is a link between the two events.
