Montreal police kill man believed to be responsible for three murders

Police searches are underway at the motel Pierre, in the borough of Saint-Laurent, in front of which the police shot dead a man who could be behind three murders that have occurred in Montreal and Laval in the past two days.

The man was reportedly shot dead by officers from the Montreal Police Service during a confrontation with them in the parking lot of the motel, located on Marcel-Laurin Boulevard. The file has been transferred to the Office of Independent Investigations, which is taking charge of this file.

According to various media, including TVA and La Presse, the man killed is the suspect behind three homicides committed over the past two days in Montreal and Laval. The victims are men who appear to have been chosen at random and shot in the head on the public highway.

The most recent victim is said to be a 22-year-old young man who was riding a skateboard in Laval-des-Rapides. He would then have been targeted by shots, reports the TVA network.
