Already sentenced to 5 years in prison for forcing a minor runaway into prostitution, a pimp has just received an additional 18 months this time for attacking a young woman he had bought in exchange for payment of a drug debt.

“[La victime] was homeless with an abusive partner who owed money for drugs. The accused paid this debt, in addition to offering a little drugs,” explained Me Delphine Mauger of the prosecution, this Tuesday, at the Montreal courthouse.
Standing in the dock, Jeffrey Audet did not seem phased as he listened to the prosecution recount his crimes which spanned six years and which traumatized his victim.
Up to 35 customers per day
After buying her for a price that was not revealed to the court, the 35-year-old pimp immediately forced her into prostitution. First by taking a percentage of the woman’s earnings, then by taking everything.
“She could provide service to up to 35 customers per day,” explained M.e Mauger.
Audet then made the woman believe that the money was going to be used to open a hairdressing salon, but of course, it was all just wind.
Completely under his influence, the victim finally managed to escape in 2023, six years after the start of his hell.
“The young woman I was is now totally different because of being abused by Jeffrey or clients,” the woman testified this Tuesday.
Traumatized
Still in the process of reconstruction, the victim says she is overwhelmed with dark thoughts, so much so that she has to take medication. She tried to find a job, but without success.
“I’m hiding my trauma, but I have to take charge of my future,” said the woman who, however, managed to return to school and who strives to “be at peace” with herself.
Audet, who ultimately pleaded guilty to charges related to pimping, was sentenced to 18 months in prison. By the Crown’s own admission, this sentence may seem lenient, except that it is added to the five years in penitentiary that Audet received a few weeks ago, in connection with the forced prostitution of a minor.
“I hope this gives you time to think about the consequences [des crimes] on the victims,” commented the judge just before Audet returned to detention.
The latter simply muttered that he had “already started”.
