Montreal | Pedestrian injured in collision with motorist

(Montreal) A pedestrian was seriously injured following a collision with a motorist in downtown Montreal, on the night of Monday to Tuesday.

The event occurred around 3:10 a.m. at the corner of René-Lévesque Boulevard West and Guy Street, in the Ville-Marie borough.

The driver of an SUV type vehicle was traveling eastbound on René-Lévesque Boulevard and, while the traffic light would have been green, an impact with the pedestrian occurred at the Guy Street intersection, where the latter crossed to the north.

The pedestrian, a 25-year-old man, was unconscious when help arrived and was transported to a hospital, where he would be in critical but stable condition, said officer Caroline Chèvrefils, of the City Police Department. of Montreal (SPVM).

The motorist, a 72-year-old man, was not injured, but suffered nervous shock and was transported to a hospital.

The scene has been protected so that collision investigators can analyze it and try to understand the exact circumstances of this event.

Tuesday morning, René-Lévesque Boulevard West is closed eastbound between Saint-Marc and Mackay streets while Guy Street is closed in both directions between Argyle Avenue and René-Lévesque Boulevard.
