Montreal North | One injured in second shooting in six days in same area

(Montreal) For the second time in less than a week, a shooting occurred in the same sector of Montreal North late Tuesday evening, and this time, a man was injured.

However, the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) has been informed that the 28-year-old man will be saved.

The shooting was reported around 10:45 p.m. by at least one call made to the 911 emergency telephone exchange.

According to preliminary information gathered by the SPVM, a person riding inside a moving car opened fire on a group of people gathered at the intersection of boulevard Rolland and rue Pascal. The car then left the scene.

When they arrived, the SPVM police officers found firearm projectile casings on the ground, on Lapierre Street, which is close to the scene of the shooting, but it was not known whether bullet holes had been found.

No arrests could be made.

A security perimeter has been erected. Dogs from the SPVM canine unit were called in to help police investigators who began examining the crime scene overnight Wednesday.

Last Thursday, July 7, shots were fired in the neighborhood, late in the evening, at the intersection of Lapierre and Pascal streets, in this same sector of Montréal-Nord, densely inhabited where there are several buildings multiple apartments.

The SPVM did not report any casualties at the time.
