Montreal | Man suspected in series of robberies wanted

The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) is asking for the public’s help in finding a man suspected in connection with four robberies that occurred in the borough of Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.


The crimes in question occurred on October 24 and 27, as well as on November 12. Between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. on those days, the man allegedly targeted his victims in public places in the area, as well as near all the metro stations between Viau and Préfontaine stations.

The individual approaches his victims from behind and attempts to steal their bag, backpack or cell phone. He then runs away, with or without the targeted object.

Police describe the suspect as a dark-skinned man in his 20s, approximately 5’8″ (1.73m) tall. At the time of committing his crimes, he was wearing a dark balaclava, a dark cotton sweatshirt with a hood and a white logo on the front, dark pants and white shoes.
