A man was found with a stab wound at the corner of Sainte-Catherine Est and Saint-Timothée streets, in downtown Montreal, Monday afternoon. An investigation is underway.
Emergency services were called to the scene around 2 p.m. The victim, a man whose identity is currently unknown, was conscious when first responders arrived. The man was injured in the upper body by a stab weapon, reported Caroline Chèvrefils, media relations officer for the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM).
The victim was taken to hospital. At the time of writing, his condition was unknown.
This street corner is located halfway between the Berri-UQAM and Beaudry metro stations, in the heart of downtown Montreal.
A perimeter was established to protect the crime scene. Investigators are on the scene and the SPVM canine unit was also dispatched to help better understand the circumstances of the attack.
No arrests have been made in the case so far, specifies Officer Chèvrefils.
