Montreal man arrested for stabbing

A man who allegedly stabbed a sixty-something was arrested Saturday morning in the Sud-Ouest borough of Montreal.

Around 9:30 a.m. Saturday, the Montreal Police Service (SPVM) was called to intervene for an armed assault at the intersection of Place Saint-Henri and Saint-Jacques Street.

Upon arriving, officers located a 63-year-old man who was allegedly stabbed in the upper body.

“He was transported to a hospital and there is no danger to his life,” said agent Caroline Chevrefils of the SPVM.

A suspect, a 32-year-old man, was quickly arrested and transported to an investigation center where he will be met by investigators.

A conflict would have degenerated between the suspect and the victim who knew each other. Both are known to the police.

The cause of the conflict is currently unknown and the scene has been protected for investigators so that they can analyze them and understand the circumstances of this event.
