Montreal | Major fire in a building on Saint-Laurent Boulevard

Dozens of people were evacuated due to a fire in a building on Saint-Laurent Boulevard in Montreal.

The commercial artery is closed between rue Sherbrooke and avenue des Pins. A major operation by the Montreal Fire Safety Service (SSIM) is underway.

The fire broke out around 1:30 p.m. at 3646 Saint-Laurent Boulevard. More than a hundred firefighters were mobilized, but there were no injuries.

Four buildings were evacuated, which include commercial spaces and residential units. The fire is almost under control, according to the Montreal Fire Department.
