Sarah Dufour

Sara Dufour at MTelus

It’s hard to resist Sara Dufour, who makes country and folk music with irrepressible punk-rock energy. The singer-songwriter from Dolbeau-Mistassini launched the album last fall Are you going to take a walk?, an invitation to enter his world which smells of wood and ski-doo engines, but also imbued with a skin-deep sensitivity. The Montreal premiere of this tour, which has already started with a bang, which will take place at MTelus on March 1st, will undoubtedly be explosive. Invitation accepted.

François Chartier

Wine in music with François Chartier

Harmony creator François Chartier will be visiting the festival for a unique event: a musical improvisation around taste scores. On the menu for this concept signed Chartier: a tasting of five beers and wines led by conductor François Chartier, which jazz musicians Yannick Rieu and Jonathan Cayer will have the task of setting to music, blindly. An unusual marriage between gastronomy and music, for epicureans looking for a unique experience. Price: $121 per ticket (fees and taxes included).

Lisa LeBlanc

Lisa LeBlanc symphonic

Are there still unhappy people for whom the marriage between pop and classical music is heresy? Maybe Saturday will be better for them, but if they show up at Place des Arts on Friday night, their lives will definitely be shit. For all the others, many, who dream of hearing an oboe solo in a bluegrass tune, Lisa LeBlanc will revisit, in the company of the Laval Symphony Orchestra, the tubes already generous in strings from her irresistible album Chiac Disco. And that evening, no, there won’t be a girl more chic than her.

The characters of Edward Lewis and Vivian Ward come to life on stage in the musical Pretty Woman.

Pretty Woman, the musical

The Hollywood romantic comedy, released on the big screen in 1990, made its way to the stages of Broadway, Hamburg and London. Pretty Woman: The Musical brings together a cast of nearly 25 performers, including Ellie Baker and Chase Wolfe as Vivian Ward and Edward Lewis. This contemporary fairy tale, which recounts the improbable encounter between a prostitute and a rich businessman, unfolds in particular with music by Bryan Adams.

Pretty Woman: The Musical is presented in English, from March 5 to 10, at the Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier at Place des Arts.

Thievery Corporation

20 years ago, Thievery Corporation was present in all the trendy 5 to 7 bars and many friends’ dinners. His way of amalgamating light groove, lounge jazz, sophisticated electro, aesthetic soul and cosmetic mixing was both bold enough and digestible enough to appeal to a wide audience. Since the Washington DC tandem has not been the darling of the month for a long time, it is not only because it draws on Brazilian music that a scent of saudade will float, Saturday, 8 p.m., at the MTelus.
