(Montreal) On Tuesday and Wednesday, 131 union members employed by Héma-Québec in the greater Montreal area will hold a two-day strike.
Posted at 4:01 p.m.
More specifically, the walkout will affect nurses, nursing assistants, counselors and technicians who are members of the Héma-Québec nursing staff union, which is affiliated with the Centrale des unions du Québec (CSQ) in the greater Montreal region.
Given the essential services that must be maintained in this area, the strike will last only 50 minutes a day, for example from 3 p.m. to 3:50 p.m. in one center, but from 2:10 p.m. to 3 p.m. in another center.
However, disruptions and slowdowns are therefore to be expected in the centers concerned in the region.
This is the second time that these union members have resorted to a walkout. They had disengaged for the first time for a day, in July.
The salary issue is the main point in dispute, along with other clauses, such as overtime, stable schedules and holidays.
