Four young suspects who allegedly kidnapped, beat and threatened a 19-year-old man at gunpoint over a trivial money debt last month in Montreal were caught and must now answer for their actions. before the court.
The facts with which they are accused occurred on the night of February 1, when they went to their victim’s home to demand payment of a debt.
When he refused, the suspects allegedly kidnapped the young man, before forcing him into a car.
For approximately an hour, the victim was sequestered in the vehicle, beaten and threatened at gunpoint.
The criminals finally took the young man down, after stealing a few hundred dollars from him, as well as his vaping device.
The investigative steps quickly made it possible to identify the four alleged perpetrators of the kidnapping, young people who are all aged 18 and 19.
They were all pinned to their respective homes and the vehicle used in the kidnapping was seized. A pistol equipped with a high-capacity magazine was also seized from one of the individuals.
The four suspects appeared Thursday at the Montreal courthouse. Three of them were formally accused of kidnapping, forcible confinement, and robbery, while the fourth was accused of unauthorized possession of a firearm.
The accused, Eloa Chelkowski Lavoie, Saikou Yay Diallo, Darnley Larose and Abdel Khadre Seid Djimet Drenim, will remain detained until their return to court.
