Montreal East | Two burned cars in front of a business linked to a Mafioso

(Montreal) A possible arson occurred on the night of Monday to Tuesday near a business linked to Marco Pizzi, considered by the police to be an influential mafioso. The incident is the latest in a long line of Mafia-related arson attacks indicating tensions within organized crime in Montreal.

The police were called around 2 a.m. in the parking lot of a building on rue Notre-Dame-Est, not far from avenue Broadway. Gestion Automobile Plus, targeted at least twice in the past by fires, is a business linked to Marco Pizzi, even if the name of the latter does not appear in the Registraire des entreprises, according to our information.

“The damage caused to the vehicles is significant, but the building was not affected by the flames”, according to Sabrina Gauthier, public relations officer for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

Firefighters from the Montreal Fire Department (SIM) brought the blaze under control, causing no injuries.

No evidence or traces of accelerant were found at the scene. So far, no arrests have been made.

On the way from The Press Tuesday morning, the two targeted cars had already been towed away for investigation.

At least eight arson attacks, attempted arson attacks and shooting episodes in just a month have been directed against two high-ranking mob bosses, Marco Pizzi and Davide Barberio.
