We no longer fear for their lives, according to what the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) later reported.

Around 2:30 a.m., a call to the 911 emergency telephone exchange indicated that the two men, aged 38 and 42, had just been attacked with a knife in the establishment located on Saint-Paul Street, near the intersection of rue Saint-Pierre. Both men were conscious when admitted to hospital.

SPVM officers arrested two suspects, both 51 years old. They were taken to a police investigation center, where they will be questioned on Friday.

In the meantime, SPVM investigators have met with witnesses to the altercation. They examine the crime scene with forensic identification technicians.
