The collision occurred around 2:35 p.m. at the corner of rue de Liège and boulevard Saint-Laurent. The truck driver and the cyclist were traveling southbound on Saint-Laurent Boulevard. The collision occurred when the truck driver made a right turn onto rue de Liège.

Located a few steps from the Metropolitan highway, this intersection has two streets with two directions of traffic. With its six traffic lanes, Saint-Laurent Boulevard is particularly busy. There is no cycle path.

As a result of the impact, the man became trapped under the truck. A team of firefighters and police from Montreal were called to the scene to root out the man.

The sixty-year-old was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Boulevard Saint-Laurent was closed southbound from Boulevard Crémazie. Collision investigators were requested at the scene. They were assisted by reconstitutionists in order to better understand the circumstances of this event.
