Montreal Canadiens forward Juraj Slafvkovsky will meet with doctors and will be absent against the Minnesota Wild.

Montreal Canadiens rookie forward Juraj Slafkovsky is still sidelined with an upper-body injury and will at least miss Tuesday’s game against the Minnesota Wild at the Bell Centre.

A Habs spokeswoman said Slafkovsky was scheduled to undergo tests on Monday and then meet with doctors on Tuesday. An update on his state of health should therefore take place on Wednesday.

Slafkovsky missed Saturday’s game as the Canadiens lost 5-2 to the Dallas Stars.

The Slovak had scored his first NHL goal two days earlier in a 6-2 win over the Arizona Coyotes.

At the age of 18 years and 204 days, Slafkovsky became the fourth youngest player in Canadiens history to score his first career goal behind Mario Tremblay (18 years, 75 days), Jesperi Kotkaniemi (18 years, 118 days) and Claude Lemieux (18 years, 141 days).

Slafkovsky also became the youngest Slovak-born player in NHL history to score his first career goal. This brand was previously owned by Marian Gaborik (18 years, 235 days, October 6, 2000).

The Canadiens selected Slafkovsky first overall in the NHL Draft last July.
