Montreal Auto Show | Toyota

Toyota has been busy over the past year. Standing on the accelerator of change, the Japanese manufacturer is doing it again in 2024. Visitors to the Show will discover a Canadian preview of the ninth generation of the Camry. This will be visible in the brand’s dealerships next spring.

Until then, Toyota piques our interest with the main characteristics of this new model. Unlike previous generations, all 2025 Camrys will benefit from a hybrid engine. A gasoline engine (2.5 L) and two electric motors take care of moving this sedan from its static position. Depending on the version (SE, XSE and XLE), this will be combined with a two- or four-wheel drive mode. The chassis, for its part, remains the same, but Toyota has still revised the suspension work to give the Camry more agility and responsiveness.

The redesigned profile of the Camry envelops an interior that has also been redecorated. The seats now provide more comfort in terms of longer seats. Soundproofing has also been improved with new materials and laminated glass windows at the front. The entry-level model (SE) features an 8-inch infotainment screen, compared to 12.3-inch for the more luxurious versions. The latter will also be able to benefit from a panoramic sunroof, a first for a Camry Hybrid.

This is made up of a 2.4 L turbocharged engine and another, electric this one, embedded in the eight-speed gearbox. Called i-Force Max, this two-headed engine produces 326 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque. It will be associated with several versions, including the Trailhunter version, a new addition to the Tacoma range.
