Montreal Auto Show | Hyundai

Hyundai has followed an upward and straight trajectory in recent years. The South Korean manufacturer is racking up commercial successes and patiently nibbling away at market share in Quebec, as in Canada.

Unlike other automobile companies whose each new product is presented as an act of refoundation, the new Santa Fe benefits from the dynamics of the previous generation. However, it falls into a different register. There is no question of playing modest, this new generation has big ambitions.

With its pleasantly stocky silhouette, the Santa Fe is designed to play on all fronts. Practical, it intends to satisfy a wide range of material constraints, but also some more cerebral expectations. Don’t be fooled by its appearance, this all-wheel drive model is not a brute. Its suspensions are perfectly adjusted, and the interior space is pleasant to live in. Not too difficult to park, it goes hiking with agility and easily overcomes stony steeps and muddy paths. For now, Hyundai offers the choice between two four-cylinders, both supercharged by a turbocharger: one hybrid with a displacement of 1.6 L (232 hp), the other 2.5 L (277 ch).

Hyundai Ioniq 5 N

Don’t have faith in electric vehicles yet? Or is your fascination with an automobile limited to the number of horses galloping under its hood? You are given the opportunity to discover the Ioniq 5 N in preview before it poses in dealerships in the spring. With 641 hp which is powered by an 84 kWh battery, the Ioniq 5 N is not afraid to compete with exotic sports cars on a straight line. Turning? Hyundai’s sports antenna has taken care, among other things, to stiffen the chassis, modify the steering gear ratio and harden the suspension elements. Nothing has been overlooked.
