Montreal Auto Show | Ford

The brand with the blue oval arrives in Montreal surrounded by all its models. Of the number, the Mustang, a Canadian preview, will obviously be the most visible. This seventh generation features new plastic, a redesigned interior and some technical developments. Better yet, it is enriched with a new variation: Dark Horse. This is powered by a 500 hp V8 engine. It only remains to be determined whether this power transmitted to the rear wheels alone will be via a manual or automatic transmission.

To stick to the road like velcro, this Dark Horse benefits from the vast experience acquired from competition Mustangs. Suspension elements, tires, brakes, steering, aerodynamics, everything has been optimized according to performance. But the Mustang’s appeal isn’t limited to this livery. The GT (480 hp V8) and 2.3 Ecoboost (316 hp) versions are financially more accessible and offered in the guise of a coupe or convertible. This latter bodywork is becoming increasingly rare these days.

Ford Bronco Raptor

To experience the thrill without sitting so close to the ground, Ford is introducing the Raptor version of the Bronco. Like the Mustang Dark Horse, the Bronco Raptor is aimed at a clientele for whom performance (in the broad sense of the term) is everything. This utility vehicle is powered by a V6 supercharged by two turbochargers (418 hp). This mechanism is exclusively fitted with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Raptor also stands out with its completely revised suspension, which offers enough travel to climb the Rockies and tires adapted to undertake such an expedition. Additional protection plates tattoo the underbody of the vehicle to adequately protect its mechanical components.
