Montreal Auto Show | European brands

Overview of European manufacturers – and some of their new products – present at the Montreal Auto Show.

Ferrari

All Ferraris are a dream, right? And at the Salon, there are several. So lost for lost, let’s shine the spotlight on the 296, the first production Ferrari with a wire on the wheel. Indeed, this model adopts a plug-in hybrid engine capable of not making its V6 engine smoke or sing for around twenty kilometers. The combined power of these two engines allows this Ferrari to reach 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds and a top speed of around 330 km/h. The maximum speed in electric mode tops out at 135 km/h.

The Lamborghini Revuelto

All over the world, we could see the festivities surrounding Lamborghini’s 60th anniversary last year. The Italian brand took advantage of this period of celebration to reveal the Revuelto, its new ambassador. In the central rear position, we still find the brand’s legendary V12, but it is now associated with three electric motors. Nothing less. There are two at the front (one per wheel) to make the Revuelto a four-wheel drive vehicle and another at the rear, attached to the eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

McLaren 750S

Like Lamborghini, McLaren celebrated the 60th anniversary this year… of its competition department. The first road car from this English firm saw the light of day in 1992. That said, McLaren is revising the 750S this year. This is more powerful, more refined and more pleasant to live with on a daily basis. Fans of cutting-edge technology will undoubtedly prefer the Artura and its plug-in hybrid engine. The electric range of this vehicle is 31 kilometers (official approval). Afterwards, it’s up to the twin-turbo V6 to get going.

Volkswagen

Volkswagen Canada no longer participates in car shows, but its dealers do not deprive us of discovering the latest news. In recent months, the German brand has reworked the Atlas and Atlas CrossSport. The fairings and headlights are new. There are also more standard features. These two utilities are now powered by a 2.0L four-cylinder engine. This can tow a load of 5,000 lbs, like the V6 previously offered. Furthermore, note that Volkswagen is preparing to launch two other electric vehicles in a few months: the ID.Buzz (a van) and the ID.7 (a sedan).
