A 38-year-old man was allegedly assaulted while sequestered in a building on Saint-Laurent Boulevard in downtown Montreal before being left on the sidewalk.
Around 11:40 a.m., several passers-by reported to 911 the presence of the individual on the sidewalk. He was then bloody, with his hands tied.
The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) confirms that it came to the aid of the man who then presented injuries to his upper body. He was immediately transported to a hospital. His life would not be in danger.
According to witnesses, the man was attacked in an abandoned building by one or more suspects.
The reasons for the attack remain to be determined and the mystery continued to hover over the event while the victim was still unable to meet the SPVM investigators.
Sunday, in the middle of the afternoon, a security perimeter was still erected in front of the building where the victim was found.
