Montreal | An accident on Highway 15 causes major traffic congestion

(Montreal) A motorcyclist is fighting for his life in hospital after being involved in a swerve Sunday morning on Highway 15 in Montreal.

Posted at 11:21 a.m.

The man would have lost control of his motorcycle, around 8 a.m., in the exit leading to boulevard de la Côte-Vertu, in a southerly direction.

“According to initial information, the driver lost control of his motorcycle when trying to exit the highway. The driver, a man in his fifties, was transported to the hospital center for injuries that would put his life in danger, “said Sergeant Catherine Bernard, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

Exit 2 of Highway 15 leading to boulevard de la Côte-Vertu southbound was still closed to traffic, three hours after the swerve, causing a lot of congestion on this very busy highway in the greater Montreal area. Around 11 a.m., the Quebec Ministry of Transport still mentioned a closure for an indefinite period.

Meanwhile, the police continued to work to advance the investigation.

“We have a collision investigation officer who came to the scene this morning to clarify the causes and circumstances surrounding this event,” said Sergeant Bernard.

The SQ investigation is continuing.
