Montreal Alouettes player and former teacher Christophe Normand faces charges of luring a teenage girl for sexual purposes.

The 30-year-old footballer is accused of having communicated with a person under the age of 16 “with a view to facilitating the commission of an offense against him” of a sexual nature such as assault or possession of obscene material, indicates the judicial information.
Mr. Normand was arrested by the SQ at his home in Eastman early Thursday morning, then appeared by videoconference from the SQ station in Waterloo, still in Estrie. He pleaded not guilty.
