Montreal Alouettes | New deals for Danny Maciocia and Jason Maas

The story was good in 2023, and now the Alouettes want to extend it. The organization announced Wednesday that general manager Danny Maciocia and head coach Jason Maas have signed long-term agreements with the club.

Maciocia is now linked to the Sparrows for four more seasons, until 2027. Maas will be at the helm of the team on the sidelines until 2026.

The GM’s acquisitions had a major impact on this year’s Gray Cup champion team. Starting with quarterback Cody Fajardo, voted Most Valuable Player in the final. On defense, Shawn Lemon and Darnell Sankey, in particular, transformed the Alouettes’ walls. Their performance at the Gray Cup was decisive.

Maciocia compiled a 27-23-0 record in three seasons at the helm of the team.

Jason Maas, who became head coach in December 2022, led the team to a record of 11 wins and 7 losses in 2023. The Alouettes finished the season with eight consecutive victories, until lifting the precious trophy.
