Montreal | A truck catches fire on the A40

Highway 40 had to be closed eastbound for long hours overnight from Thursday to Friday after a truck traveling there caught fire.

The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m., near rue Papineau. The truck then burst into flames for a reason still unknown.

No one was injured and no collision occurred. However, the truck driver was taken to hospital for nervous shock.

The A40 was closed eastbound between avenue Christophe-Colomb and boulevard Saint-Michel, which obviously complicated the morning rush hour on Friday.

The Sûreté du Québec confirmed that the process of reopening the highway began around 8 a.m. It was finally completely reopened around 8:50 a.m.
