Montreal | A third car burnt down in six days

(Montreal) For the third time in less than a week, firefighters had to intervene to put out a suspicious fire burning on a car parked in Montreal.

Posted at 6:14 a.m.

This time, the car was parked in a residential area, on Avenue Papineau near the intersection of Avenue Étienne-Brûlé, in the Ahuntsic district, a stone’s throw from Highway 19, in the north from the city.

The emergency call was made around 1:30 a.m. Thursday. After extinguishing the flames, firefighters from the Montreal Fire Department (SSIM) found clues suggesting that the fire had been set on purpose.

The damaged vehicle was towed overnight to be combed through later by investigators from the arson squad of the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), who inherited the file.

At the end of the night, no injuries were reported and no arrests were made.

Last Tuesday night, a car was damaged by fire at the intersection of Victoria Street and 4e Avenue in a residential area of the borough of Lachine. Four days earlier, on Friday night, another car was ravaged by fire, this time on Tricentenaire Boulevard, near the intersection of Victoria Street, in the Pointe-aux-Trembles district.
