The accident occurred at the corner of boulevard de Maisonneuve and avenue De Lorimier. The latter was also completely closed at the beginning of the afternoon between de Maisonneuve and rue Sainte-Catherine.

“For a reason still unknown,” said the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), the pedestrian found himself under the wheels of the truck and was dragged several meters.

The victim, a 30-year-old, was taken to hospital in critical condition. The driver of the truck was not injured, but was still treated for post-traumatic shock.

Collision investigators were dispatched to the scene to try to establish the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
