Montreal | A man shot dead in the Saint-Michel district

Wednesday 4:25 p.m. A man dressed in black, handgun in hand, walks down rue Shelley, a commercial street in the Saint-Michel district. Four shots. A man is shot in the head. He collapses. The suspect fled on foot.

“I approached the person. She was clearly already gone. The blood didn’t lie. It was I who called the police, ”drops Philippe. The man, who was refueling his vehicle at the Shell gas station a few meters from the tragedy, saw everything.

The event occurred not far from the corner of Avenue Shelley and Boulevard Crémazie, in the Saint-Michel district. This is the second shooting in broad daylight to occur in two days in the metropolitan area.

When the police arrived, around 4:30 p.m., the man had already lost his life, confirmed the Montreal Police Service. The victim is not yet known.

A sad sequence

No arrest has taken place for the moment, specifies the SPVM which will try to establish the circumstances surrounding the event.

A large perimeter has been established on Avenue Shelley, between Boulevard Crémazie and Rue Michel-Ange, where forensic identification technicians are at work.

This new shooting follows several others that have occurred in Montreal and Laval in the past few days. However, no link has yet been established between this new event and the others.

In Laval, Tuesday, an episode of gunfire occurred in the early afternoon in the middle of a residential area. It was already the third event of its kind in three to occur on Jesus Island.
