Montreal | A man shot and injured in Ahuntsic-Cartierville

A 22-year-old man was injured by firearm projectiles Wednesday evening in a residential area of ​​the borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville, in Montreal.


Shots were heard around 7:50 p.m. in rue de Salaberry, at the corner of avenue Bois-de-Boulogne.

This is a residential area where the streets are lined with apartment buildings. A convenience store and an elementary school are nearby.

At the scene, the police found a 22-year-old man with minor injuries to the upper body, said Jane Drouin, spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

At the scene, projectile impacts were observed directly in the entrance door of a building. An investigation has been opened. The scene was secured and the canine unit was called to the scene, along with the forensic identification service.

Investigators will meet with witnesses to the event, said Agent Drouin. Surveillance cameras could be viewed as part of the investigation.

No one has yet been apprehended in this case.
