Montreal | A man injured by gunshot in Lachine

(Montreal) A man was injured in the upper body by projectiles from a firearm in the borough of Lachine, in Montreal, early Sunday morning.

The 36-year-old victim was found in an alley in the Saint-Pierre district around 4 a.m. after gunshots were heard.

The man was rushed to a hospital in a serious condition, but he was conscious when taken care of by paramedics.

For the moment, there are no suspects or witnesses to the events, according to the spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), Raphaël Bergeron, who indicated that it was “difficult to establish what really happened”.

SPVM investigators were on the scene Sunday morning to shed light on the circumstances surrounding this firearm attack. The surroundings and any surveillance camera video recordings will be checked, said Agent Bergeron. The victim will also be met by the police, when his condition allows it.
