A building serving as a place of worship was ravaged by fire overnight from Sunday to Monday in the Saint-Michel district of Montreal.
The fire broke out around 3:20 a.m. on the 1st floor of the adjoining building of a fire station on Jarry Street East, near 10th Avenue.
“Fourth alarm. Possible power outage,” said the Montreal Fire Department on Twitter, asking to avoid the area.
A fourth alarm was triggered to mobilize a hundred firefighters to fight the flames, which fortunately did not spread to the adjoining buildings.
No one was injured in the fire, according to the SIM, which said it did not know the extent of the damage or the cause of the disaster.
SIM investigators are expected to travel to the scene during the day to try to determine the exact circumstances surrounding this fire, it was added.
