A 27-year-old cyclist lies in critical condition in hospital after being struck by a vehicle in the LaSalle borough in Montreal on the night of Thursday to Friday.

The collision occurred at around 11:40 p.m., when police located the victim unconscious and injured in the upper and lower body.
The young man was transported to a hospital in a condition deemed critical, said the spokesperson for the Police Department of the City of Montreal, Caroline Chèvrefils.
The driver of the vehicle, aged 29, was not injured, but suffered a nervous shock, said the SPVM public relations officer.
According to cross-checked information from the police, the vehicle was traveling on the boulevard Angrignon viaduct, when the cyclist crossed it from east to west, near rue Notre-Dame Ouest.
The scene was protected by a security perimeter for investigators who will have to analyze it and try to shed light on the exact circumstances of the accident.
The investigation is continuing, it was added.
