Montreal: a 32-year-old man stabbed in Outremont

A 32-year-old man was stabbed Tuesday evening in the Outremont district of Montreal.

The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) was alerted around 9:40 p.m. for an injured man in an apartment building on avenue de l’Épée, near avenue Van Horne.

When the police arrived on scene, they located the victim seriously injured in the upper body with a bladed weapon.

The 30-year-old was rushed to a hospital where he is in stable condition, said SPVM spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils.

According to initial information, it all started with a conflict which degenerated between the victim and the suspect who knew each other.

During the conflict, the 26-year-old suspect then allegedly attacked the victim with a knife and fled before the police arrived.

The scene was protected by a security perimeter, while awaiting investigators and forensic identification technicians who will have to shed light on this armed attack.

Witnesses were met by the police who are still on the hunt for the suspect who is still free as the wind in nature.
