Montérégie | Three-vehicle collision leaves one seriously injured

A man is in critical condition after a collision involving three vehicles in Saint-Patrice-de-Sherrington, in Montérégie, Sunday afternoon.


The accident occurred around 4 p.m. on Route 219, a two-lane road that crosses fields in this Montérégie municipality.

For an unknown reason, the driver who was heading south veered from his lane and collided sideways with a first vehicle coming in the opposite direction.

The vehicle then continued its trajectory to come face to face with a third vehicle.

The driver involved was seriously injured and taken to hospital in critical condition. We fear for our lives, specifies Camille Savoie, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

The driver of the second vehicle was not injured. The two people in the third vehicle involved suffered minor injuries.

An SQ police officer specializing in collision investigations was dispatched to the scene to better understand the circumstances of the tragedy. The scene will be analyzed and an investigation is underway.
