(Quebec) A 15-year-old teenager died after a violent scooter accident on Sunday evening in Sainte-Marie-Madeleine, Montérégie.
Emergency services were dispatched around 6:30 p.m. for the accident on Route 116, also known as Boulevard Laurier, reported the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
According to information gathered by the police, a vehicle and the moped the teenager was riding on were traveling west when the vehicle struck the moped for an unknown reason.
The teenager from Saint-Hyacinthe, Montérégie, who was alone on board, was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, said Sergeant Valérie Beauchamp, a spokesperson for the SQ.
An accident scene reconstruction expert was dispatched to the scene to analyze the scene and determine the causes and circumstances of the collision.
