(Candiac) A woman was seriously injured Monday evening following a motorcycle accident in Candiac, Montérégie. The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) indicated at the end of the evening that she had succumbed to her injuries.
The emergency services intervened shortly before 4:45 p.m. on Highway 30 eastbound, in Candiac, to rescue the 37-year-old motorcyclist.
“The driver would have caught the central parapet in a curve after losing control of her racing car,” explained Camille Savoie, spokesperson for the SQ.
The woman was transported to a hospital with significant injuries.
The lack of experience would be the hypothesis considered by the SQ to explain the accident. A police officer trained in collision investigation went to the scene to better understand the circumstances of this event.
One lane was temporarily closed on Highway 30 eastbound, but is now reopened to traffic.
