(Saint-Rémi) A 28-year-old driver was seriously injured in a collision involving three vehicles Friday afternoon in Saint-Rémi, in Montérégie, indicates the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
Around 2 p.m., authorities were called to Saint-Rémi Boulevard (route 221) regarding the collision.
According to initial information, the 28-year-old woman “was not able to stop in time and hit another vehicle in front of her which was preparing to make a turn,” says Camille Savoie, spokesperson for the SQ.
His vehicle then deviated from its trajectory to collide head-on with a heavy truck.
The driver was taken to hospital. The authorities fear for his life.
A collision investigation officer was dispatched to the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the event. To this end, Saint-Rémi Boulevard was closed in both directions.
