Montérégie: a stolen vehicle causes a collision on Highway 10

A stolen vehicle was involved in a collision early Monday on Highway 10 on the South Shore of Montreal.

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) was alerted to an accident that occurred around 3 a.m. on the A-10 westbound, at kilometer 14.

According to initial information, a black vehicle crashed into another vehicle ahead of it, causing minor injuries to the driver.

When the police arrived on the scene, there was no one in the offending vehicle, since the two occupants had already fled on foot.

The police realized that the vehicle was reported stolen, said SQ spokeswoman Geneviève Bruneau.

It is that the Richelieu-Saint-Laurent Intermunicipal Police Board had been investigating since the night on the vehicle which turns out to be the one at the origin of the accident.

Both vehicles have been towed away and the investigation is continuing, it added.
