A 39-year-old woman was seriously injured after a collision that occurred at the corner of two rows, in Saint-Damase, in Montérégie, Friday afternoon.
The driver was arriving from Rang de la Caroline and headed south on Rang du Haut-Corbin (route 231). A cube truck coming from the north hit him head-on.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the accident at 2 p.m. In this agricultural sector, Route 231 makes a wide curve.
The three people in the cube truck were not injured in the accident. On the other hand, the driver was seriously injured and transported to hospital where she is fighting for her life, indicated Stéphane Tremblay, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.
The scene was secured and an investigator specializing in investigation and collision was dispatched to the scene to better understand the circumstances of the tragedy.
