There are fears for the life of a 43-year-old man who survived a rope jump at Sablon beach.
Emergency services were notified of the situation late Saturday afternoon, around 4 p.m.
“The man in his 40s jumped into the water from a platform where a Tarzan rope was located. He ended up in the water and did not come to the surface. At this location, the depth of the lake is two to three meters,” explained information officer Nicolas Scholtus, spokesman for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
The man was eventually rescued and resuscitation maneuvers were carried out by beach rescuers until help arrived.
The 40-year-old was in critical condition when taken to hospital.
“We asked the forensic identification service to go to the scene to analyze the scene,” said Mr. Scholtus.
