Monteregie | A 70-year-old dies of her injuries after an accident

(Rougemont) Two septuagenarians went off the road Tuesday evening in Rougemont, in Montérégie. The passenger who was in critical condition unfortunately did not survive.



The accident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Principale Street in Rougemont. “The vehicle was traveling eastbound before the collision, then hit a post at the edge of the street,” said Stéphane Tremblay, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

Two people were in the vehicle, a 71-year-old driver and a 70-year-old passenger.

Both individuals were injured and taken to hospital, but the woman succumbed to her injuries.

A police officer specializing in accident scene reconstruction went to the scene to better understand what caused the collision
